With the weather cooling down and Back-to-School on our minds, it's the perfect time to share this Upcycled Jean Lunch Tote with you.

Vintage Images

The vintage images are so sweet. I used inkjet printable fabric, which I've referred to when making aprons, pillows, ornaments, and napkins.

Belt Handle Detail

I shared the basics for making this jean lunch tote more than a year ago when I had less than 25 followers. I was just a baby blogger!

Since making this lunch tote, I use it almost daily to carry my lunch to work.

Adorable. Portable. Yummy.

But we've also carried picnics-for-two in it!  Guess what we took with us most recently?

Fresh Peach Crisp in a {Mason} Jar

Adorable. Yummy. Portable. It's fresh Peach Crisp baked in a mason jar!   

Peaches are in ripe abundance right now. 

I found that my Peach Crisp recipe perfectly fills 4 half-pint sized mason jars. They make the sweetest little portion-controlled servings. 

It Feels like Fall!!

I can't hold back another second! I know it's August but the last few days have been cool around here, and although it's dryer than the Sahara, it feels like Fall! 

And something about Fall always incites in me a sense of exhilaration. It's like no other season. There's an excitement, an expectancy, a desire to connect with nature and friends. 

Bird Bath...I mean Spa

During this summer's drought we've been hosts to the new, super-cool hot spot in the neighborhood. A spa in its own right for our feathered friends.

My hubby noticed the birdbath kept running dry in a matter of hours. He'd fill it up on his lunch hour and get home after work to find it empty. Hmmm... Was there a crack in the dish?

Nope. We simply get so many visitors in there splashing and drinking they run the birdbath dry! So hubby rigged up a hose and set it to run every 12 hours. Not good enough...we were still running dry. So he set it to go off every six hours. That seems to be working.

Therefore, we can no longer call this a birdbath. It's a bird spa.

Ok. A wildlife spa.

We're not the only ones doing some bird watching.


I guess we'll have a splash of refreshment, too, while we watch:
