Fresh Squeezed Lemonade - DiY Healthier

Cold. Fresh. Squeezed. Lemonade! Take control of your sugar intake and rev up your vitamin C by making your own lemonade.

You can easily make lemonade by the glass, or by the pitcher.

Start with one lemon if you just want to make a glass of lemonade, and add
three parts water, and one part Simple Syrup {or sweeten to taste}

Keep Simple Syrup on hand to quickly make up a glass of lemonade, limeade and many other drinks on the spot!

If your lemons are room temperature, they will be easier to juice.

Collect the juice of about 5 or 6 lemons if you want to make a pitcher of lemonade. {Depending on the size of lemons}

It really goes quite quickly.
Save the rinds; we'll make a special treat in an upcoming post.

For a zippy, full-bodied lemonade, you'll want a 1:1:3 ratio of lemon juice to Simple Syrup to water. Simple Syrup dissolves easily in cold drinks, unlike sugar crystals.

So for a pitcher: 1 Cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 Cup of simple syrup, and 3 Cups of water. If you like a lighter lemonade, add another cup or more of water. I like to instead add ice to the pitcher and let it do its thing on a hot day! Of course if you want less tang and more sweet, add more simple syrup to taste.

Served up ice cold and with strawberry and/or cherry garnish, Lemonade is Soooo Refreshing {and pretty}! You can add less Simple Syrup for a healthier drink.

Lemonade is a fun compliment to a Bar-B-Que and the Wild West party theme. You can get the tutorial for the fringe snack bags by clicking *here*
