Hello everyone!
Today I'm sharing a little peek of our home
to illustrate a decorating idea.
all my favorite elements in mind.
It's a place where a
rustic, back-to-nature log cabin feel
meets elegant craftsman bungalow form,
meets warm timber frame touches.
I have a few little holiday ornaments
who beg to stay out past Christmas.
They add a little whimsy
through every season.
You might have some ornaments
you've collected on trips or inherited,
so I thought I'd show a few of my examples of
how to use holiday ornaments year around.
Do you have any collections that you display?
Figurine-type ornaments,
like this cute moose and bear,
are easy to work into a curio cabinet or display.
A loved one gave us the sweet little cabin,
and despite the "no bears allowed" sign
these two get along great next to it!
In our home, you wouldn't necessarily know
right away these are ornaments.
See why I couldn't put them away?
Some of our ornaments go roaming around.
You might find one in the kitchen or bathroom, or various and sundry areas of the house.
at different times of year.
Sometimes they migrate to places that make us laugh - it's part of the fun.
An ornament might just show up
to greet a guest staying the night.
Quite handsome with the hand towel, isn't he?
Keep in mind that the context of
different holiday or seasonal decor will
give new life or a new slant on the same
little ornaments.
Here's what I mean:
Sweethearts!

Can't pinch me - I'm wearing green!
See? They really are cute year-around....
Do you leave any of your ornaments out?
Do you collect ornaments
from a favorite artist?
I want to thank artist Patience Brewster,
whom I learned about when she was featured in an issue of Where Women Create,
for asking me about how we use
ornaments in everyday life.
You can check out some of her
sweet work {here}.
Happy decorating!
