Today I'm sharing with you another
music-themed DIY project from my
wedding series:
Wind up with a great conversation piece
for a music-themed
party, wedding or shower
using old cassette cases!
Each vase or centerpiece is like
time capsule ~ a blast from the past ~
sure to provoke smiles and reminiscing.
Let's go retro and get started with
How to Make a Vintage Cassette Case Vase
This tutorial couldn't be simpler.
Grab your old cassette cases. Leave the
cassettes inside as a sort of time capsule.
Or, remove the cassettes for another fun project
to be posted here in the coming weeks.
You need a minimum of 4 cassette cases to
make a short vase.
I recommend 8 cassettes to create a "tower vase."
You can see from the first photo how to arrange
the cases so each side of the square
displays a cover and a spine.
All you do is use your trusty hot glue gun
to glue the cases together.
Easy Peasy!
Now, simply drop silk flowers into
the tower to create a centerpiece.
To use real flowers, just slip the case 'vase'
over one of those slender bud vases.
If you're using real flowers and worry
someone will pick up the case vase
and create a spill, glue a piece of
plastic to the bottom of the tower.
Take your recycling up a notch: trace around
the tower bottom on a plastic lid, cut out
and hot glue to the bottom of the tower.
Use your centerpieces as give-aways
at the party...
or keep them for a fun way
to store pens, pencils
and other supplies.
Stay tuned for how to use the cassettes in a project.
