Use ingredients from your kitchen to whip up beautiful and inexpensive table napkin bling!
This recipe calls for the cardboard tube from your paper towel roll, a pat of tinfoil, a few raffia 'noodles' and a pinch of hot glue. Make them simple, or....
glam them up!
To make the basic raffia napkin rings, click HERE for instructions {featuring a beautiful fall version}.
In this version, aluminum foil is the star of the show. The silvery sparkle is perfect for the holidays. I've crimped it into a fine, waffle-like texture...
...and cut my own 'rickrack' from the resulting tinfoil 'cloth.' Get the full tutorial for making tinfoil cloth and rickrack by clicking here. For the simple holiday napkin rings, I just hot glued the rickrack to the basic raffia napkin ring base.
Take these to the realm of fabulous by using a circle punch on the tinfoil cloth, and a dove punch on white cardstock. Adhere them with hot glue, but CAREFUL! The tinfoil will amplify that heat!!
Natural, joyful, holiday sparkle that's not over-the-top.

ReplyDeleteI Absolutely love your napkin rings. The tin foil is brilliant. Love how you got everything so uniform. The doves are so great. I found my mind spinning with ideas. Like corn husks that you make tamales with, would be great too. You could cover the tubes entirely. All the stores now sell them. Along with rafia and aluminum foil you can make anything I think. So Fun...Thanks for sharing!
