Some games simply must
be a part of the childhood experience.
Hop scotch,
jacks,
and "cootie catchers"
come to mind.

So here's an Easter rendition of the
"cootie catcher" game.
The game is also known as a chatterbox,
and that term seems most descriptive
for this version.

appears after the tutorial instructions below:

Print the chatterbox on plain white paper.
Cut along the dotted line so that you have a square.
{depending on your printer, you may have to trim up the sides to make it square}

Now, here are the folding instructions:

With the printed side down,
fold the corners in toward the center.
Smooth the creases with a bone folder or ruler.
Now the lamb side is facing up
and the pink diamond with words is facing down.
Flip it over and position it so that you have the pink square facing up.

Fold the corners into the center again.
Smooth the creases with a bone folder or ruler.
When you're finished with that,
the inside of the chatterbox will be facing you.
The side in which you place your index fingers and thumbs will be facing down.

For the final folds,
fold the square in half. Smooth the crease.
Unfold and fold in half the other way.
Smooth the crease.

Now pick up and from underneath,
place your index fingers and thumbs
into the pockets to form pinchers.

How to Play:

Maneuver the chatterbox in this pincher-like way.
You move your fingers back and forth
as you spell L-A-M-B or B-A-A
to get the game started.

The other player selects a number.
Move your fingers back and forth that number
of times.  Have the other player pick one more
number and lift that flap.

There will be a word under the flap.
The player describes a time when she or he experienced or demonstrated the word.

A great Easter game for sharing stories about
kindness, love, forgiveness, compassion, faith, hope, sharing and generosity.
