This well-rounded snack mix gives a little bit of sweet, a little bit of salty, and the perfect mix of protein and carbs.
Here's how you make Gorp snack mix:
Ingredients:
- 1 small box of Cheerios
- 1 can of dry roasted peanuts
- 1 bag of plain M&Ms
- 1 box/can of raisins
Are you ready? Here's where it gets difficult:
Pour your Cheerios into a large bowl.
Dump in the rest of the ingredients.
Stir to mix thoroughly.
Real tough, eh?
Now just take Gorp Trail Mix with you on road trips, camping trips, movie night, in the lunch box... you get the picture. It's good anywhere, anytime.
You can serve Gorp up at a Halloween or Fall Harvest party.
Or take it on a picnic {along with this amazing dessert}.
Now...what to do with all that left over packaging?
Let's R3: Recycle, Reuse, Repurpose. Here's how ~
Cheerios box becomes:
Paperless gift wrapping. Very chic like craft paper. You can also emboss or stamp the box to dress it up.
Raisin canister becomes:
Scrap Paper Mod Podge Canisters
Peanut canister becomes:
That's my GORP project.
Tasty Treat. Virtually no trash. It's a win-win combo!!

I love GORP. Did you know that it stands for Good Old Raisins and Peanuts?
ReplyDeleteI always end up needing my cereal boxes, Velveeta boxes, heck I've even used round oatmeal cans to wrap stuff in but they never look so cute like that.
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
Yum! Wish I wasn't allergic to peanuts. Reminds me of my days as a Girl Scout. Love all your ideas of how to reuse the packaging.
ReplyDeleteI am laughing because your GORP post took me on a whole rabbit trail to non-paper gift wrap to tin foil tutorials! Whew, you are full of fun ideas! Anyway, I had forgotten all about GORP and my family would love it. Your packaging ideas are so cute. And I have a ton of old cereal boxes that I was going to use for another project but never got around to it. So, hello Christmas wrap! Thanks so much for you ideas!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so simple!. Love all your re-usable container ideas! Saw you at Tip Me Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteThis recipe looks awesome! Thanks for sharing! Visiting from Whimsy Wed.
ReplyDeleteThe mix looks great & of course only you would find something to create from the packaging! Great job!
