Silk Flower Corsage Pin Tutorial

Here's the tutorial for how to make a pretty silk flower corsage pin in just 5 minutes!

Use silk flower corsage pins for teacher appreciation, mothers day, or even for showers, birthdays, or as hostess gifts.

Purchase floral bushes when they are on sale. You can use them in an array of crafting projects.

In addition to silk flowers, here are the supplies you'll need to make the corsage pin. Buttons, safety pins {or a jewelry pin back}, thin gauged wire or just sturdy thread... supplies you likely have on hand already.

Take the center out of the flower and pull the petal layers apart.
Mix and match various flowers for texture, like I did for this corsage:

Replace the flower's plastic center with a pretty button. The button style will set the tone of your corsage: elegant, trendy, whimsical...

Buttons with shanks provide a perfect way to secure a fastener on the back side of the flower.

Just cut a length of wire or thread.

And simply use the wire or thread to secure a safety pin {or jewelry pin back} to the shank!

When using flat buttons, simply run sturdy thread through the button and flower layers...

...to secure the safety pin.

I love embellishing my aprons with silk flower corsage pins, too.

Use silk flowers as bows on your gift packages. They are a reusable and beautiful alternative.

What do you think? This is a very fast, fun way to fancy up an occasion, yes?
