10 MORE Techniques for Handcrafted Cards

graduation, weddings, showers, thank-you's... 
the opportunities are endless!

10 MORE handcrafted card techniques:

First: tips for the background and focal image:

Create an interesting, textured background
and use up your paper scraps by cutting out
squares and adhering them in a grid pattern.

Or, if you need designer paper,
check out the one's I've created {here}.

Of course, a gorgeous main image grounds the piece and invites you to linger with the card for awhile.

There's much to behold here:
Notice the gold pen around edges of the squares.
Notice the corrugated square. I put that one through the paper crimper.
Notice the deckled edge on the main image - in contrast to the very square motif.

Another tip: layer your images and cutouts...

and use unexpected objects in cliche images, such as this pen tip piercing the heart.

You can cut out photos or imagery from magazines for interest.

See those little silver dots? That's tinfoil!

Of course, you can stamp words and images, 
like the "take wing" sentiment.
But also remember to cut out stamped images,
like I did with this crown.
