How to Make an Edible Winter Forest!
These frosted holiday trees

Here we go...
Fill these with cake mix,
or leave them hollow and just decorate the outsides. I personally enjoy them hollow.
You'll need the following supplies:

wax paper
(optional: cake mix of your choice)
chocolate and white almond bark,
(optional: cake mix of your choice)

sugar cones,
coconut flakes,
and the sugar pearls I used

Spread wax paper on your countertop
to be ready to receive the
dipped trees you're about to make.
If you're going to fill them with cake,
which is totally optional,
you would mix the cake mix of your choice
according to directions.
To keep sugar cones upright during baking,
cover a bundt pan with heavy duty aluminum
foil. Poke a small hole in the foil and insert the sugar cone tip, pressing down until the cone is standing upright. Repeat around the covered
bundt pan. Fill each cone about 2/3 full.
Bake for about 15 minutes or until the top
springs back at your touch.
Allow to cool completely.
Prepare a dinner plate with coconut flakes,
and a second one with the sugar pearls.
In a wide, shallow bowl,
melt the almond bark
in the microwave according to
the package directions.
Dip the sugar cone in the melted bark,
rolling to cover the outside,
and immediately roll in coconut flakes
or the sugar pearls.
Stand them up like trees on the wax paper.
You may need to sprinkle on or press in a few more sugar pearls or coconut flakes at this point, while the almond bark is still pliable.
Allow to dry and harden.
Repeat with the rest of the cones.
If you're leaving them hollow,
you can stack a couple of cones to make
taller trees.
Arrange on an edible peppermint platter
for a beautiful centerpiece ...
