Valentine Heart Cone Tree Tutorial

Valentine paper heart cone trees! | tutorial at I Gotta Create!

     Fabulously fun and easy to make, the ever-popular cone tree wears its heart on its sleeve in this Love-ly Valentine version!  Here's how to make a Valentine Heart Cone Tree:

Start with just a bit of card stock paper in pinks and lavender and these basic supplies. I love this little lopsided heart punch!

Punch out a bunch of hearts from your color card stock. Create a cone from a piece of 8.5x11 card stock and tape the seam. Need a template?  Here you go:
{Or, to make your own, simply take a piece of string and tie it to a pencil.  Make the string 8.25 inches long from the pencil. Use your thumb to press the string to the left corner of your paper, and use the pencil end to draw an arc as in the template above.}

Next, just start gluing some of those sweet hearts to the cone, starting at the bottom and working your way up:

Experiment with different spacing techniques. You can overlap the hearts quite a bit or space them so that you can see the cone beneath.

Like I always say, A Gal's Gotta Have A Glue Gun!

These trees are pretty sweet unadorned...

...But I always like to go for a little bling! These charms on yarn are adorable.

Here's some fun ribbon for dress-up.

You can make your trees monochromatic, slightly varied, or colorful like a bag full of conversation hearts!

So sweet on a bedside table. I placed this one on a glass candlestick to vary the height.

Simple, cute and fun!
