31 Days of Gratitude: Allowing Growth & Unfolding

"My eyes were bigger than my stomach." You ever hear that saying when someone's heaped too much on their plate to finish eating?

Well here's a new saying:
"My ideas are bigger than my hands."

In other words, it's that feeling you get when
you can't accomplish
everything you'd like to accomplish
in the timeframe you'd like to get it done.
Sigh. Does that feel familiar?

In a world that seems on fast-forward with our electronic capacity, the illusion of instantaneous big results is cultivated.
It sells well.
We'd all like some of that. :)

But the acorn does not become the magnificent Oak tree overnight, or even in a few years. The same is true for relationships, health, peace, careers...
all must be nurtured
...tended
                                     ...allowed to unfold and grow.

And there is so much beauty and blessing in that.

So I find myself grateful for the moment of impatience at not being able to accomplish all that I wish. For it reminds me to release the illusion and embrace the blessing of the present moment.

...

I am grateful for the opportunity to recognize the power of the present moment.

I am thankful I have the time and space to attune to the quality and essence and direction of this moment

so I can engage the power and beauty held within it

which, if embraced, make life so sweet.

I too suffer from my ideas are bigger than my hands. But I like to think of it as just dreaming big then I don't have the anxiety of not accomplishing things. Because it's good to have dreams.
