Out of Season

The leaves turn brown and fall
For want of a quenching rain
Giving the appearance of an autumn
Come swiftly and unexpectedly.

It wasn't your season
To fall

I read this and thought, you're so right. Took the dog for a walk yesterday and there's leaves falling onto parched lawns. It's sad. I'm happy not to be roasting at 100 F, but I'm not ready for autumnal skies just yet.

Pretty poem, too. You're multi-talented!

Awesome writing! I feel the same. We're roasting here and when the hot winds come, they are not giving relief, just a reminder that things are dieing unseasonably early. Arggghhhh!

Love the sentiment in this piece. It sounds as if there was something sad - I will keep you in my thoughts!
